The Importance of Healthy Trading Psychology
One important thing traders are always taught, is the importance of having and maintaining healthy trading psychology.
But how do we do this and why is it so important?
Well first, Cynthia believes that using color coordinated charts is the first step in relieving the brain of information over-load.
When the brain can make a good decision based on at-a-glance information, it doesn’t get so tired or nervous or stressed.
This is important because most trading mistakes happen when a person is tired or stressed (or hungry)….this is when the brain doesn’t process information correctly because it’s on over-load…so reducing stress is the number one problem to overcome.
And Cynthia believes the easiest way to reduce stress is to present information in such a way that it’s easy for the brain to process and make an automatic good decision.
If color coded charts soothe and relax the conscious mind, then the sub-conscious mind can make better trading decisions almost immediately, thus by-passing the nervous-nellie conscious mind that always over-analyzes and worries and can’t be disciplined very easily and reacts to losses with fear of more losses.
NO FEAR trading! This is what color coded trading can do for you!
Trading In The Zone
Trading with color co-ordinated indicators and candles can help make you a fearless and confident trader and help you trade without thinking about it, doing everything right, no hesitation, no fear, no indecision….no more analysis-paralysis that leads to bad trade decisions or even pulling-the-trigger problems.
This is called Trading ‘IN THE ZONE’ and this is what all traders can experience with color coded trading.
The pleasure from this type of trading is indescribable! It increases your sense of well-being, security, confidence and joy in living! It’s a sexy feeling!
And the beauty of trading ‘IN THE ZONE’ is that these positive pleasurable feelings create such a wealth of healthy trading psychology that your subsequent trades become even more profitable and successful!
The Importance of Healthy Trading Psychology
And if you do experience a loss, you’re cool, you don’t react, you don’t experience fear or doubt or anger and you just go on to your next trade unaffected.
Well, that’s trading ‘IN THE ZONE’….and it’s a great experience, as you well know if you’ve been lucky enough to achieve it, even for just a short time.
Trading is the greatest game in the world…and having a positive winning mindset is 80% of success. Keep your emotions cool, stay in control of your emotions, and you’ll be on top of the game always. “OWN THE ZONE”.
Trade with color coded charts and become a trader that “OWNS THE ZONE”!
The Importance of Healthy Trading Psychology can’t be over-emphasized…it makes the difference between successful traders and unsuccessful traders.
Trade Like a Samurai Warrior! NO FEAR trading!
How to stay positive when you have losing trades?
First, celebrate your losses! Jump up and down and yell ‘yippee, another losing trade’! Put on some rock music and dance! This will offset the natural disappointment, fear and even anger at losing. Don’t let those negative emotions sink in and get anchored and be allowed to defeat you….be the Master of Your Emotions!
This is what you should do when you win or lose!! Get up and dance!
Samurai Warriors had no fear….they had learned how to master their emotions so that the fear of death or losing didn’t exist for them. They were empowered with confidence and success because of this. You need to learn how to trade like a Samurai Warrior. Doing so will ensure your healthy trading psychology.
Next, keep a trading journal. I know, you’ve read this advice before…but do you do it? In order to learn from your winning and losing trades, you need to document everything about the trade…then go back later and let everything you did sink in…you have to learn from your mistakes and successes…they are both very important!
The Happier Trader Guided Meditation Video
When I was a newbie forex trader back in 2002, my first big account was wiped out because I didn’t know about NFP, one of the biggest U.S. economic news events that happens each first Friday of the month. I sat in frozen horror as I watched my account drop quickly to nothing and I had no idea why or what had happened.
I suffered severe psychological damage that lasted months. I was so shaken up that I couldn’t even pull the trigger in a demo account, the panic attack was so bad that my heart raced and my palms got sweaty, the post traumatic stress was really bad. I got help from a psychologist friend who taught me guided meditations that eventually healed my fearful traumatized wounded psyche and I was able to finally start trading again. I do believe that without the guided meditation positive affirmations, that my budding trading career would have been over, before even really getting started.
Several years ago I made friends with a Life Coach/Guided Meditation Expert named Tink Serval and she and I together, created a guided meditation video for traders that I think is pretty wonderful. We call it The Happier Trader Guided Meditation Video.
If you visit this page, you’ll find a free complimentary 3 minute Happier Trader Guided Meditation Video that you can come back daily to use.
You can also purchase a full 20 minutes of guided meditation suggestions designed just for traders….and if you use it daily for 3 weeks, you’ll not only find yourself trading better, ‘In the Zone’, but you’ll also feel happier in general…I highly recommend it if you feel you need psychological support and help for your trading.
In the ‘Cynthia’s Freebies’ section, you can download a free report I wrote many years ago called ‘The Psychology of Trading in the Zone”. I talk about how to trade like a Samurai Warrior!
